🍰 Recipe: Pastiera Napoletana D'Amico
Serves 8 | Ø 18 cm | Prep Time: 40 minutes
🧈 For the shortcrust pastry:
- 270 g pastry flour
- 2 whole eggs
- 100 g granulated sugar
- 110 g soft butter
- A pinch of salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 vial orange flavoring
🥣 For the filling:
- 125 ml milk
- 250 g Mariarosa cooked wheat
- 120 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 250 g ricotta cheese
- 1 vial orange blossom or Millefiori aroma
- 60 g mixed candied fruit, diced
- 50 g candied orange peel, diced
✨ For decoration:
- Powdered sugar to taste
- Sugar decorations (optional)
👩🍳 Preparation:
- Make the pastry: Combine all ingredients and knead until smooth. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- Cook the base: In a saucepan, simmer cooked wheat with milk and half the sugar for 10 minutes. Let cool.
- Mix the filling: Stir in ricotta, remaining sugar, aroma, candied fruits, and egg.
- Assemble the tart: Roll out dough, line an 18 cm baking tin, pour in the filling, and top with pastry strips. Bake at 180 °C for about 40 minutes.
- Finish: Let cool and dust with powdered sugar. Add decorations if desired.
